Techniques - Geo-textiles and planting programmes

needs annotationGeo-textile is often termed as a ‘soft’ engineering approach to restoration and enhancement, although the material is synthetic, used correctly it can be a benefit to many projects offering a medium to long-term erosion solution. The geo-textile material whilst synthetic can be utilised in an entirely ‘green’ way to protect and enhance the habitat of a site. These methods can be seen as ‘best practice’ environmental solutions to erosion management issues on riverine environments.

The A.G.A. Group’s aquatic plant nursery Merton Hall Ponds is the largest in the UK commercially growing and supplying Phragmites Australis (common reed) for industry for over 12 years.

Our plants are supplied from fish-free environments, this negates the chance of the transfer of potentially pathogenic fish diseases to the receiving fishery, a small point perhaps but attention to detail and a complete service is what tells the A.G.A. Group apart from the rest.
